Searching for the perfect Grand Prix horse? Look no further! Desario is a 2011, bay, 17.1hh Oldenburg gelding by De Champ out of a Rosario mare. This is a superstar of a horse. He is confirmed Grand Prix with an extensive show record and couldn’t be sweeter on the ground and under saddle. He has had one owner since he was three and was carefully developed through the levels; he’s now ready to make someone else’s dreams come true and will be the barn favorite wherever he goes!
Desario has three high quality gaits, a beautiful connection in the bridle and while he is CDI quality he has a wonderful brain and is safe as can be. He has beautiful piaffe/passage and easy tempi changes and, he is an opportunity to own a CDI winner that is ready to go into the show ring. Desario has a show record starting as a young horse winning the national championship for 5-year-olds, continuing on to a small tour career with scores to the mid-seventies at championship events and CDIs. He debuted at Grand Prix in 2020 and has since scored into the 70s.
Desario overall is an exceptional horse, very correctly trained, a pleasure to ride and a success in the show ring. De Champ is a highly notable sire who won the small final during his time as a young horse at the championships in Verden. Additionally, he excelled in his 30-day stallion testing with a 9.5 for ride ability. He had a fantastic career as a performance horse and his influence in breeding produces beautiful moving horses with great temperament as exhibited in Desario. His dam sire Rosario comes from the famous line of Rubenstein known for their wonderful temperaments, he himself was a triple Oldenburg champion and know for passing along wonderful qualities to his offspring.
