Karena has been riding over 15 years first with western, then polo, and successfully competed to 2nd level dressage, Level III jumpers, and Training level eventing all with different equine partners while juggling family, career and extensive international business travel. It is her unique business and cultural experience that her clients love about her as she can relate and help them relax once they get to the barn!

Karena is also a PATH certified riding instructor for the disabled, having taught first at Freedom Ride, a non-profit PATH premier accredited therapeutic riding center located in Orlando, FL, then at Hoofprints on the Heart in Livermore, CA. She also served on the Board of Directors for Freedom Ride.

She loves working with adult amateurs and children to teach them the basic fundamentals of horsemanship and build their confidence levels whether it be dressage, jumping or learning to ride in the open. Karena is excellent at explaining the how's and why's behind things and is always open to learning from other horse disciplines. She has a tremendous amount of patience, understanding and great sense of humor!

She currently works and trains with Grand Prix dressage trainer Gina Duran, Advanced level eventer Alexis Hellfrich and Grand Prix show jumper Claudio Gallo to continuously improve her own riding.

Karena is available for lessons (we have school horses available), Pony Club clinics, and training.
