Sales Description:
Sire: Cosaco
Grand Sire: Jilguero
Dam Sire: Idilio 2
Conocido HGF, known around the barn as Conan, is the unicorn everyone has been looking for. He is the ultimate Grand Prix schoolmaster — safe, fun, incredibly rideable, and genuinely competitive. Conan has scored over 70% in the Grand Prix Freestyle and as high as 71% in Intermediaire I. This is the horse who can take you down the center line, give you the opportunity to win, and let you have fun doing it.
He has been trained and developed by some of the best trainers in Wellington and has the scores to prove it. He also has an FEI passport and is exceptionally safe and enjoyable to ride. All of the upper-level movements are easy to ride and correctly trained, making Conan a true schoolmaster who allows his rider to learn, develop, and have fun.
His pedigree is equally impressive. He is by Cosaco, one of the early PRE stallions to successfully compete at Grand Prix in the United States and a USDF All-Breeds Grand Prix Horse of the Year. Cosaco was especially renowned for his piaffe and passage, and Conan’s maternal pedigree brings in the influential Idilio II, who also had a highly successful FEI and Grand Prix career. This is a pedigree built around trainability, performance, and upper-level dressage.
Imagine having a horse you can get on and ride the Grand Prix movements, changes, pirouettes, piaffe, passage, and all the tricks — and then walk down the center line and really compete. All while feeling safe, confident, and having a tremendous amount of fun. That is what makes Conan so special.
He is an incredibly versatile horse who could suit a junior rider, young rider, U25 rider, amateur, ambitious amateur, or even a more timid amateur looking for the confidence and experience of a true schoolmaster. Most importantly, Conan is the kind of horse that allows his rider to enjoy the sport. Whether your goal is to learn the upper-level movements, compete down center line, or simply have an incredible time riding Grand Prix, this is your opportunity.
Conan is truly one of a kind and would be extremely difficult to replace. With the season approaching, this is the time to act. He is priced reasonably to sell, but I do not expect a horse of this caliber to stay available for long. Come ride him and see why this is the horse so many riders have been waiting for!
